If you told me four years ago that a TV show about a zombie apocalypse based on a comic book would be one of my favorites, I would have told you that you were crazy. Yet here I am anxiously waiting for Sunday February 9th to get here. That is the day that The Walking Dead returns on AMC. I've figured out that the only thing I like as much as season premier are mid-season premiers. Over 16 million viewers watched the 4th season start back in October making it the most watched drama in basic cable history. I wonder if the award winning show will break another record Sunday at 9:00 PM.
Season one of the show aired back in October of 2010. It is based on a small group of survivors living in post-apocalyptic times. Not only do they have to fight the ever growing population of walkers, but they have to battle others over safety and what little resources that they find. Things get very interesting because there are egos, love, and kids involved. And the writers have the characters seeking shelter in many unexpected places such as the CDC, a farmhouse, and a prison. I love the fact that the show is filmed Senoia, Georgia which is right outside Atlanta. There is even a tour bus to show fans filming locations.
If you've never seen the show, it's not too late to catch up before Sunday. You can watch full episodes at AMC now. I'm thrilled to hear that one of my favorites has already been picked up for a 5th season.
