Kerri Washington who plays Olivia Pope isn't just the mistress of the president of the United States. She owns a crisis management firm. Which means she and her staff spend time solving the problems of her troubled clients. Tony Goldwyn plays the POTUS Fitzgerald Grant III. A lot of the show's storyline takes place behind the cutthroat walls of the White House. So you see, this political drama isn't only about adultery.
