the Man in 3B The Movie

I'm excited about all the movies based on best selling books that come out this year. The Man in 3 B written by Carl Weber has an August release date. I loved this book. It's one of those books that make it hard to carry on your normal life. You don't want to stop reading and go to work. Dinner can wait. Don't call me, I'm not answering the phone. Just a few more pages and I will go to bed type of books.

Last summer, I got to listen to Carl talk about his books at a conference. Let me tell you, he is hilarious. He has written an astonishing twenty one books. I'm sure that I am not his only fan who hopes that many more of his books become movies.

I won't give the book away by revealing who did it. If you've read the book, which I hope you have, you already know. I'll just say that the man in 3 B meant different things to different people. There was a good cop and a bad cop. And I'm just glad I don't have a nosey gossiping news crew sitting on my front stoop.

Sheen Magazine Hit the Floor Event

I was invited to Sheen Magazine's blogger bash for Hit The Floor at the Ernest Washington Studios. The scripted show airs on VH1 on Monday nights. It's about the Los Angeles Devils basket ball team and their dancers.

Guests were treated to live music, plenty of sweet treats and spirits. We had a ball taking lots of pictures. After all, we were in a photography studio.

I had the pleasure of meeting local bloggers and more of Sheen's staff at Saturday's event.

We got to view a sneak peek of the season premier which picks up right where last season ended. But don't worry, I won't spoil it for you. The intimate group also got to interview Robert Christopher Riley who plays Terrence Walls on the series. His female fans might be interested to know that in addition to acting, he also loves spoken word and photography.

The second season premiers tonight. Enjoy watching!

Billboard Music Awards Red Carpet Fashion

Last night was a big night for music lovers. The Billboard Music Awards aired live from MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Most people watch for the performances, but I watch for the fashion. Jordin Sparks was one of the red carpet commentators interviewing performers. I immediately fell in love with her short black sequined chevron print dress by designer Michael Costello.

All I can say is the black dresses stole the show. Entertainment Tonight's Rocsi Diaz rocked a cute little black dress with cut outs at the waist.

Singer and judge of the new show Rising Star Kesha wore a gorgeous black and grey lace and tulle long strapless gown with a train.

Newlywed Kelly Rowland wore a daring two piece long dress with her midriff out and legs exposed through the high splits.

It was a good night for fashion and music.

Power

Money, power, and respect. That's what you want if you live your life as a major player in New York's drug trade. This is the life James "Ghost" St. Patrick leads. And that is the way Tasha wants to keep living despite her husband's ambition to turn legitimate.

Starz new original series Power has Curtis Jackson, better known as 50 Cent as one of the executive producers and stars. It was created by Courtney Kemp Agboh. She is known for her writing on The Good Wife and The Bernie Mac Show.

I can't wait until this crime drama premieres on June 7th. Judging from the trailers that I have seen, it is going to be very exciting to see how the writer weaves the double lives of Omari Hardwick's character together.

The Prodigal Son

I'd like to send out a big congratulations to Kimberla Lawson Roby on the release of her twentieth novel today. The Prodigal Son is the newest addition to the Reverend Curtis Black series. Her fans love this character and all his antics, so she keeps giving them what they are asking for.

I have loved Kimberla's work for many years. When she was promoting another one of her bestselling books, I was able to call into a radio interview and ask her questions about writing. I've also had the pleasure of seeing her in person a few times at book signings. She is always very down-to-earth and transparent with her answers.

Congratulations! I wish you much more success.

Met Gala Red Carpet

Every year celebrities get dressed up in designer suits and gowns to attend the Met Gala. It is an annual fundraising event for the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute. But not just anyone gets an invite. The editor in chief of Vogue Magazine Anna Wintour is selective about who is on the guest list. By the way a seat to this exclusive dinner costs $25,000.

Yesterday afternoon, first lady Michelle Obama spoke at the ribbon cutting ceremony for the Costume Institute that was renamed after Wintour. This year's exhibit Beyond Fashion features designs by fashion designer Charles James. He was very popular from the 1930's, 40's and 50's.

Here are a few of my favorite gowns from last night's 2014 Met Gala.

Sex in the City's Sarah Jessica Parker looks great with her hair up wearing a beautiful black and white Oscar de la Renta gown. The designer even signed his name on the back hem of her train.

Anne Hathaway looked stunning in this sleek two piece Calvin Klein number with a long slit up the front.

Power couple Jay Z and Beyone Carter each wore Givenchy. Notice the veil over her eyes?

I love Gisele Bundchen's long black plunging V-neck Balenciago gown.

Reese Witherspoon's hot pink curvy Stella McCarthey dress with a train is one of my favorites of the night.

But no one could compete with the beautiful Zoe Saldana in her fun black and white Micheal Kors dress. Who was your favorite?

I hope they all had a great time and raised a lot of money!
