Naeem Khan at Bridal Fashion Week

Naeem Khan's spring summer bridal collection has got to be one of the most creative that I've seen. I'm going to start out with his more conservative dresses before we get to the ones that are as far from classic as you can get. I love this beaded A-line dress.

The combination of flowers, paisleys, and bling make this strapless gown a winner.

Not everyone will be able to pull off this stunning gold number with a train attached at the waist. But it will be the perfect dress for someone special.

Your eyes will always have something to look at on this dress. From the peekaboo bodice to the different patterns, everything is very feminine.

This gown is simple gorgeous. It starts out sheer. Then it turns metallic. Lastly, it flares out into tulle.

Long sleeves and lots of floral appliques make this a unique look.

If you are having an evening wedding that's not in a church, this dress might be perfect for you. Look at all the sparkle and fringe.

I love the way the designer played with the lace panels to make stripes. I've never seen a striped wedding dress before, but it works.

This is definitely not your mother's wedding dress. But this sheer and gold metallic gown is my favorite in the collection.

Here is the creative mind behind the designs.

Bridal Fashion Week Recap #2

I love fashion and I love weddings, so bridal fashion week is like heaven to me. I picked a few of Carolina Herrera gowns to feature today. Let's start with this beautiful two tone lace gown.

The lapel on this strapless form fitting dress is anything but masculine.

I love all of the sparkle and the gathering at the waistline of this long gown.

How can anyone not love the sparkle of this very feminine gown and matching veil?

I had to include of few pieces from Amsale's collection. This unique dress is one of my favorites. The layered waistline and flowing train make it stand out from the rest.

I love everything from the color to the sparkle at the bust line to the way the dress falls.

The sheer fabric and the lace are perfectly paired from head to toe in this gown.

This has got to be the sexiest wedding dress that I have ever seen. It may just be the best example of keep it simple stupid too. Great job Amsale.

Think Like a Man Too

If you read my Valentine’s Day Movie Picks post you know that Think Like a Man is one of my favorite romantic comedies. And if you haven’t read it, you should. Anyway, I am one of the many fans who have been waiting for the sequel since 2012. The wait is almost over. On June 20th Think Like a Man Too releases in theaters. I was delighted to hear that all of the original cast and the writing team of David Newman and Keith Merryman are back to work their magic once again. Like the saying goes, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. I’m sure they have another box office hit on their hands.

I love the way that the screenwriters created characters based on the relationship advice book written by Steve Harvey. Not only did they bring characters to life, but they paired them together with their complete opposites and made it work. I can’t wait to find out how the writers have my favorite characters “the mama’s boy” Terrence J and “the single mom” Regina Hall getting along with his meddling mama. Her character is played by the hysterical Jennifer Lewis. I also wonder how “the 90 day rule girl”, “the player”, "the woman who is her own man", "the dreamer", "the girl who wants the ring" and "the non-committer" are doing.

The first movie was based around the woman reading the book Think Like a Man, Act Like a Lady and the men trying to undermine their efforts. Think Like a Man Too is based around the friends going to Las Vegas for one of the couple’s wedding. They set out to outdo each other at their bachelor and bachelorette parties. June is a great month to get married. So it seems like the perfect summertime movie to me. I can’t wait to see it!

Ines Di Santo at Bridal Fashion Week

The collection that Ines Di Santo designed for spring/summer 2015 fashion week was full of gorgeous gowns. The floral crowns on top of the models heads are equally as stunning. I love the detail of this beaded gown.

The wow factor of this lace sheath dress is the plunging scalloped edge neckline.

I love the way the designer made the darts part of the design of this form fitting dress.

The combination of feathers and sparkle made this flared dress another favorite of mine.

The classic straight bodice and this flared ballgown are sure to please a lot of brides.

I couldn't help but love this champagne colored gown paired with touches of white lace down the front and hemline of this piece.

The gold eye catching necklace is a winner with this beaded printed dress.

But my favorite thing in this collection is this flattering gathered gown. I love the beads on the straps and bodice against the color, as well as the way it balloons out at the hemline.

Here is the designer of this wonderful collection.

Monique Lhuillier at Bridal Fashion Week

I loved Monique Lhuillier's spring bridal collection so much that I had a hard time selecting a few of my favorites. So I picked all of the gowns that I liked and gave her a post all to herself. I'm going to start with a one shoulder belted gown with tulle peaking out the front.

I absolutely love the layer of tulle wrapped around the dress at an angle. The rose details from the knee down make this gorgeous dress even better.

The contrast of the sleek bodice and the fullness of the layered bottom makes this gown unforgettable. The designer tied it all together with a jeweled bow on the side.

The delicate lace shawl over the strapless dress caught my eye.

Long sleeved wedding gowns don't always work in my opinion. But I love them on this dress. As a matter of fact, there lots of details to love about this piece from the keyhole neckline to the high split up the front to the train in the back.

Like I said, her collection has some wonderful gowns. Here is another one. The plunging sweetheart neckline and the lace running down the middle and the hem of this dress did it for me.

Modern brides will love the sparkle and sleekness of this off white gown. The flare from the knees adds a traditional touch.

Blue! There's nothing else that needs to be said about this showstopper.

But my favorite gown is this one. I love everything about it. From the fitted sparkling bodice with the detailed waistline to the snowy white ruffled layered bottom.

I think Monique Lhuillier designed a great collection. Any bride should be able to find her perfect dress because there is something for everyone.

Bridal Fashion Week Recap #1

It's bridal fashion week! I picked a few of my favorites from Reem Acra's show this week. I think this plunging V-neck full length lace dress will be a hit with brides.

Another modern piece is this white lace and layered ruffle gown.

I love that you can barely see the sheer fabric underneath the pretty lace.

My favorite Reem Acra gown is this strapless form fitting modern shiny play on traditional lace. It makes me want to get married all over again so I can wear it.

Oscar de la Renta never disappoints by always having a classic and elegant collection. I got to watch the live stream of Friday afternoon's show on their website. So I picked a few of my favorites to share.

I like the unexpected texture of these off the shoulder sleeves on this simple ball gown.

The jeweled accent in the center of sweetheart neckline is gorgeous. And I love the way the train glides behind the model.

My hands down favorite is this lace bodice gown with lace on the bustled train in the back. The veil with the scalloped edges is a great added touch.
